Don Durand is a globally experienced executive, board member, and leadership consultant with a proven track record of leading organizations through complexity, transformation, and high-stakes decision-making. His career spans industries including sustainable development, renewable energy, transportation, and enterprise software, where he has successfully navigated emerging markets, institutional funding, and large-scale operational challenges.
As an Executive Consultant with TGN Consulting, Don specializes in performance breakthroughs and organizational strategy. He also shares his expertise as a guest lecturer at the Beedie School of Business and as a Forum Chair for MacKay CEO Forums.
Previously, Don served as President and COO of Buchanan Renewables, where he led the transformation of a green-field biomass venture into a €300M enterprise, securing a $100M investment and negotiating a strategic merger with one of Europe’s largest power producers. Earlier, as President and COO of Transnational Automotive Group, he spearheaded the launch of Cameroon’s first modern city bus system in over 30 years, earning national recognition and a U.S. State Department Award for Corporate Excellence.
A former Canadian Armed Forces officer, Don brings disciplined leadership, resilience, and a global perspective to his work. He has served on multiple corporate boards and remains committed to guiding organizations toward sustainable success through strategic insight and operational excellence.
